Domain Name Registration
Hi,
So many people get confused or overwhelmed when trying to pick a Domain name, sometimes called a URL (Universal Resource Locator). The Domain name is the main address where the website resides. The URL could be several different addresses to the Domain.
An example is JeffMagee.com, that is a domain name where this website resides. But I could however have different files I want to give out an address (URL) to so people are lead to a specific place on my website. Such as JeffMagee.com/About-Jeff-Magee or JeffMagee.com/Where-To-Begin.
Don’t spend to much time over-thinking a name. If you are just getting started you could start with your name or a variation of your name. The closer the better. In other words don’t try to spell things different than they really are, people will type in what they think it said and not get to your website if you changed up the spelling. If your wanting to promote a product, you could choose a name that fits for the product or even the category.
If you are creating a personal website or blog, that is pretty easy, use your name.
If you want to promote teeth whitener, you could do a Domain name with teeth whitener in it or it could be a Domain name about Heath products. You see, there is a lot of room to figure out a Domain name that will work for you.
The bottom line is this, you need to get your website up and running, don’t spend days worrying about a Domain name in the beginning, you can always get another one that you like better later.
There is one thing that I really recommend you do, use a .com for your main website. It is still the most widely recognized extension. When people see the Domain name, they always assume it ends in .com. It is not the end of the world if you use another extension, this is only my and many others opinion.

Have your picture show up automatically!
You may have noticed when you visit blog sites, the posts or reply’s have pictures beside them.
Sometimes it may be an actual picture and other times it is just a cartoon drawing of someone or something.
To get a picture of yourself to show up is really easy. Most website or blogs use gravatars for the images.
Visit the gravatar website and follow the steps. It only takes about 2 minutes to complete.
You need to click on the “Get Your Gravatar Today” button and follow the steps. This is a cool free service!
A tip to remember is that you can have multiple email addresses with one gravatar or you can have a separate gravatar for each email address.
This way when you make posts, the picture that you want for each particular post will show.
